diy project: doily bowls with vintage handmade lace doilys

One of my winter projects was to try making some doily bowls with stuff I had on hand. There are tons of how to's online, especially on Pinterest.

I tested out a couple of different concoctions: mod podge with water, and liquid starch with water (50/50). The mod podge dries much harder and sturdier. The liquid starch is more forgiving if you want to reshape it.

Here they are dry. I think I am still going to play around with reshaping a couple of them. Might be cool to make them fit glass candle votives or bodega type candles. They would probably make some excellent shadows at night.
